Description
This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.
Job Purpose:
The Tool Services Roustabout performs a variety of manual and medium to unskilled tasks required to support the movement of materials, equipment and supplies to various field locations.
The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.
Essential Job Functions:
- Expediting for the rigs – Freight / Tools / Materials / Supplies / Equipment.
- Transporting and Delivering Oily Waste / Haz Waste / UAA / SAA / Kitchen Grease & Recyclables to Environmental / Spill / Dump / Haz Waste.
- Coordination Between the Rigs and Vendors to Transports Materials.
- General Labor – Shoveling / Building Cellars & Containment / Carpentry / (Chain Saw experience a bonus) / Heavy Lifting.
- Maintenance of Drilling Tools and Equipment – Use of Pressure Washer & Grinder.
- Radioactive Normative (Norm) Testing of Used Drilling Materials.
- Rig Site Prep – Use of Survey Laser & Receiver.
- Rig Moves – Traffic Control / Rig Mat Laying / Rig Route Inspections.
- Loader – Snow clearing / Rig Mats / Rig Moves / Loading & Unloading Trucks.
- Communicate and Track Inventory Movement of Drilling Equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Possess a working knowledge of small hand tools, such as shovels, hammers, drills, and grinders.
- Possess current general knowledge of practical laborer skills.
- Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.
- Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs.
- Ability to follow detailed directions.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
- Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
- Standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
- Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
- Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
- Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
- Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
- Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
- Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
