Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Property Accountant to oversee and perform the financial management of our multifamily assets in Arizona. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a keen eye for detail, an expert in property accounting, and a strategic thinker. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting cycle for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations.
- Coordinate and assist with annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
- Utilize strong organizational skills to maintain financial records and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Demonstrate expertise in property accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Assist with Implementing and adapting new technology solutions to enhance accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve financial objectives and operational efficiencies.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast budgets, and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial transactions, including rent rolls, expenses, and revenue recognition.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve performance and mitigate risks.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Review and approve all property-related invoices and ensure they are paid on time.
- Collaborate with property managers to optimize income and expenses.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred, not required.
- Experienced in Realpage Accounting and Onesite highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on multifamily assets.
- Proven ability to manage the full accounting cycle, from transaction entry to financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of improving financial processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills; experience with property management software is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations.
