ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Laser System Operation and Testing:
- Operate and oversee laser systems, with a strong emphasis on implementing and conducting rigorous laser testing protocols.
- Develop and execute comprehensive laser testing procedures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine testing methodologies and implement improvements.

Optical Alignment:
- Perform precise optical alignment of laser components.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance and refine optical alignment procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any optical alignment issues promptly.
Maintenance and Calibration:
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration activities, with a focus on preserving optimal laser system performance, testing accuracy, and precise optical alignment.
- Collaborate with engineering to implement upgrades and improvements, ensuring alignment integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, calibration, and testing activities.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough quality control checks on laser components, emphasizing adherence to laser testing and optical alignment parameters.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any quality issues related to laser testing and optical alignment.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain high-quality standards.
Process Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate and optimize laser processing parameters, particularly those related to laser testing and optical alignment, for enhanced efficiency and product quality.
- Provide technical input for the development of new laser-based manufacturing processes with a focus on laser testing and optical alignment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Laser Technician, with a strong emphasis on laser testing and optical alignment, preferably in a medical device manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with industry standard tools and methods for laser, photonic, and electro-optical systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory technical work in lasers.
- Experience in documenting technical work and results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Biomedical product or medical device development experience.
- Proactive, organized, self-motivated individual, requiring minimal supervision, and able to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to laser operation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
