Our team works in a climate controlled, well-lit, and clean environment. Our Production team enjoys three-day work weeks with occasional Thursday hours. We’re looking for someone who demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and has experience in injection molding or a like industry. This role provides general set-up and process troubleshooting functions for our injection molding presses while supporting the needs of our press operators. Schedule: FT – Monday – Wednesday 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Sets/Changes molds and/or auxiliary equipment, trouble shoot, and cycle in presses in accordance with the set up instruction sheet to produce plastic components to customer specifications.
- Perform insert changes on injection molds.
- Evaluate the accuracy of existing process sheets and set up instructions and document process and/or set up instruction changes or, if necessary, create a new process sheet or set up instruction.
- Correct quality and cycle time deviations.
- Purge material from presses.
- Fill, empty and clean hoppers.
- Dry and maintain plastic resins to Bill of Material guidelines.
- Grind runners and scrap parts; empty and clean grinders.
- Label all materials and return materials and related paperwork.
- Assist in the training and starting up of the press operators.
- Assist in the counting of production products at the end of the shift.
- Assist in the sampling of new and/or revised tools and equipment.
- Create maintenance and toolroom work orders as needed in the company’s ERP system.
- Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner (i.e. set-up sheet, material handling sheet, daily log notes, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with setting up and cycling in of plastic injection molds or like experience.
- Technically sound and hands-on in troubleshooting the injection molding processes and equipment or like experience.
- Demonstrates a familiarity with how to operate all pressroom equipment as well as troubleshooting equipment when problems arise.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions and to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Able to move between job functions in an efficient and well prioritized manner.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills along with strong judgment capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve common goals
- Must be able to accurately use counting scales.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 medical is a plus.
- Scientific molding/RJG experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to spend 90% of the workday walking or standing
- Essential job duties require reaching, bending and grasping
- Heavy lifting required
