The Educator Fellows of New Mexico two year program aims to provide an opportunity to accomplish two main goals: 1. To provide additional supplementary Educational Assistant support in the classroom setting to increase adult to student ratios as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. 2. To provide specific resources and support to build the educator pipeline in New Mexico.
Priority of Awards Based on Indicators; The project can support 500 state supported fellowships, therefore a system of priority is utilized to determine awards to LEA’s who submitted an RFI. The priorities are set based on the number of indicators met. The indicators are as follows:
- Elementary schools
- ELL serving schools greater than 10% of the school population
- Special Education serving Schools greater than 15% of the school population
- Native American serving schools greater than 10% of the school population
- Economically disadvantaged schools greater than 50% of the school population
