Summer is coming! It has been an incredible winter season for Edson Hill’s Restaurant & Tavern and we are excited to keep the ball rolling into our busy warm season. We are looking for new members to add to our team for a mid-May start date! We bring Northern Vermont the highest quality local ingredients, curated & innovative dishes while also making our guests feel welcome and special. We want to add 2-3 experienced and motivated servers to our seasoned, wonderful team.
Our goal in The Dining Room at Edson Hill is to provide our guests with an outstanding and memorable experience. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is polite, outgoing and eager to learn and work with our team of talented, passionate and fun people who are knowledgeable about local foods, wine and great service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare dining room for nightly service
- Attend nightly pre-service meetings to learn specials, any menu changes and participate in trainings and tastings
- Understand the proper steps of service required of all FOH positions such as table pacing and section maintenance in coordination with teammates
- Expertly guide our guests in their food and beverage selections
- Accurately record and relay orders to the bar and kitchen
- Confirm guests’ satisfaction with their meals
- Perform required side work throughout your shift and ensure all work is done before clocking out
- Set dining room for breakfast service and close the dining room
- Be a professional, considerate and respectful team player - support your fellow FOH staff at all times
What You Bring to the Table:
- A passion for fine food, drink and providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests
- Previous fine dining serving experience
- Strong communication and listening skills to deliver accurate messaging and a pleasant and friendly attitude to both guests and teammates. If you are not a team player, this role is not for you.
- The ability to maintain knowledge of menu and beverage ingredients that is comprehensive and kept current as menus change seasonally.
- A commitment to developing knowledge about wine and spirits as well as local food offerings and sources.
- Provide excellent service and warm hospitality at all times
- The ability to stay positive and calm under pressure. Be polite and confident in challenging situations while maintaining patience, understanding and the true spirit of Edson Hill hospitality
- Integrity - Doing the right thing all the time while using sound judgment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
