The Role
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to handle the in-house accounting needs across several entities. This position will be largely responsible for recording our incoming and outgoing financial transactions and partnering with our external Accounting and Payroll teams to help unify efforts. Common tasks might include importing bank downloads, syncing transactions from POS platforms, and processing payroll. This position will also prepare and analyze basic reports, maintain physical and electronic records, and will work closely with upper management.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain Confidentiality: Prepare and maintain records of confidential information with absolute discretion and professionalism
- AP/AR: Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Payroll Processing: Process employees’ timesheets, calculate tips and commissions, and manage payroll
- Reconciliation: Post and reconcile cash, bank accounts and revenues
- General Ledger Oversight: Maintain a accurate general ledgers, making adjustments as needed
- Journal Entries: Create journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets
- Tax Returns and Reporting: Prepare tax returns and monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Expense Management: Present expense reports and facilitate organization of receipts and financial records
- Model Company Values: Demonstrate company values in all actions, communications, and decision-making, including a genuine commitment to equity, inclusion, and compassion

What You’ll Bring

- Accounting Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, reporting,
- Payroll Processing Experience: 1+ years payroll processing experience; experience with retail or hospitality accounting also a plus!
- Accounting Education: Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Technological Proficiency: Highly proficient with accounting tools and operations-related technologies including MS Excel, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, NetSuite, macros, Square, Shopify
- Teamwork Skills: Great teammate, dependable, approachable, knowledgeable, solution-oriented problem solver, able to wear multiple hats, committed to helping build our Accounting department, able to work autonomously and collaboratively, and able to embody our values in your actions and decision-making

Physical Demands
- 100% on-site in Seattle, WA with the possibility of some remote work
- Able to remain in a stationary position about 75% of the time
- Able to occasionally move about inside the office to access necessary office equipment and resources
- Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a scanner, copy machine, and printer
- Periodic physical filing of paper records
