Position: Full Stack Software Engineer

In This Role, You Will…
Design and develop web and mobile applications, coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure, and share in production issue troubleshooting and DevOps responsibilities. A commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, exceptional customer interfaces, and product quality is essential.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
- Read and understand detailed design specifications and implement those specifications in software.
- Build customized solutions that support business requirements and drive key business decisions.
- Participate in architectural and database design discussions as they relate to product direction.
- Ensure quality of all technical aspects, including data migrations, data quality, systems integrations, third-party applications, AppExchange products, and custom code.
- Create design specifications, documentation, and unit testing plans as defined by the agile development process.
- Complete development tasks independently as well as under direction from the product architect and development leads.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software solutions.
- Participate in Production Support both during normal business hours as well as some off-hour support.
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and cleanliness.
- Collaborate across team and departments to design solutions that efficiently deliver the required enhancements on time and within budget.
- Mentor other team members.
- Perform code reviews and suggest refactoring opportunities or code streamlining techniques.
- Ensure other team members are following the security and software development code standards as established by the team and suggests improvements where appropriate.
- Peruse blogs regarding best practices, guidelines, and patterns that should be implemented at Mariner on the React, Node.js, or Mongo platforms.
- Proactively brings new patterns, tools, software, and standards to the development organization.
- Conduct strategy sessions with our partners and service providers and actively participates in the implementation of both new vendor software, new versions of software with our existing vendors, and future planning sessions with our partners and vendors regarding future projects with them.
- May perform additional functions depending on market demand and staffing in order to provide consistent quality customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years working in a software development role with at least one (1) as a senior team member.
- Expertise with Node.js, React (or Vue.js) and Express.
- Comprehensive understanding of database design and development across both SQL and NoSQL technologies, specifically MongoDB.
- Knowledge of Git with experience administering GitHub.
- Experience with Redis.
- Familiar with cloud-based technologies like Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, Lambda).
- Experience with Command Line tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience shipping readable, modular, reusable code to users.
- Extensive experience with web application architecture and computer science principles.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly, and write intelligently both with technical teams as well as business focused teams.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to independently determine tasks to complete on a daily basis.
- Self-starter who can take an idea from whiteboard to production.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative studies (e.g., computer science, math, economics, statistics, etc.).
- Certifications in Agile, AWS, Database, or Language specialties.
- Familiarity with VS Code.
- Experience with consumer lending and underwriting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation: $120,000-$140,000 + Bonus
