Residential Counselor
Supervised By: Clinical Director
Hours: Full Time - Awake Overnight
Primary Objective:
The Residential Counselor plays a crucial role in providing services, support, and interventions to veterans living in a therapeutic tiny home community. This position involves assisting clients in achieving their personal goals and fostering independence. The Residential Counselor will work under the supervision of the Clinical Director to ensure the well-being and growth of individuals served. The expectation is that this position will be in-person, with the possibility of occasional remote work as necessary.
Clinical Responsibilities:
The Residential Counselor will provide care coordination, resource management, and direct support to individuals in a residential setting. This includes assisting with various activities of daily living, medication monitoring, socialization, transportation, and advocacy. The Residential Counselor will work as part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans based on the assessed needs of the clients.
Job Duties:
· Direct Support: Provide direct support and assistance to individuals in the areas of personal care, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and transportation.
· Care Coordination: Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans, ensuring that clients' personal goals and needs are addressed.
· Resource Management: Assist clients with money management planning, ensuring they have the necessary resources to meet their daily living needs.
· Socialization: Promote socialization and community integration by organizing and facilitating group activities and outings for clients.
· Group Facilitation: Residential counselor’s will be responsible for facilitating groups on various topics.
· Documentation: Accurately and timely document all services provided, client progress, and ongoing needs in accordance with organizational policies and regulations.
· Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma,College degree preferred.
· Experience: Relevant work, student, or volunteer experience in a similar setting preferred.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
· Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated ability to show empathy, patience, and understanding towards individuals with diverse backgrounds and challenges.
· Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.
· Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

Pay: $17.50 per hour
