Responsibilities: - Install, program, and maintain alarm systems in residential and commercial buildings - Conduct site surveys to determine the best locations for alarm system components - Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation - Test and troubleshoot alarm systems to ensure proper functionality - Provide technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation and maintenance - Collaborate with construction teams to integrate alarm systems into new building projects - Perform inspections of existing alarm systems to identify any necessary repairs or upgrades - Assist with the design and layout of alarm systems for new construction projects - Provide recommendations for alarm system upgrades or enhancements based on customer needs Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience as an alarm technician or in a related field preferred - Strong electrical knowledge and understanding of electrical codes and regulations - Proficiency in CAD software for designing alarm system layouts - Familiarity with fire alarm systems and their installation requirements - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals - Experience using power tools and hand tools for installation and maintenance tasks - Knowledge of system design principles for effective alarm system integration - Construction inspection experience is a plus - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
