**Director of Operations**
**Job Overview:**
Pet Palette is a leading wholesale distributor of pet products. We are looking for a strong leader to oversee the entire warehousing, inventory management, fulfillment and distribution functions of the company ensuring optimal operational performance, efficiency, and accuracy. This role involves managing staff, coordinating logistics, utilizing technology and implementing strategies to serve our customers, improve productivity and reduce costs. This is a senior management position working directly with the CEO and other senior management leaders to grow the company profitably.
**Responsibilities:**
- · This Operations Director role is accountable for the management of all the daily activities of a 25,000 SF distribution center.
· The Director will be responsible for interviewing and training new team members, creating and documenting training processes, developing Shift Leads and leading teams of warehouse associates, managing the maintenance of the facility and all the warehouse equipment, and setting the standard of a positive attitude, productive work ethic, and modeling ideal behavior for our team members.
· Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving inbound freight, slotting, storage, inventory management, processing orders, pick/pack fulfillment, replenishment, staging, processing and loading outbound freight.
· Ensure all warehouse processes and facility complies with company policies and OSHA safety regulations.
· Continuously evaluate and optimize warehouse layout and workflow for maximum efficiency and accuracy.
· Managing the preventative maintenance and repairs of forklifts, pallet jacks, dock doors and plates.
· Train and support warehouse associates in the use of handheld scanners and computer systems.
· Troubleshoot technical issues related to warehouse equipment and work with the software technical support as needed.
**Qualifications:**
- · A minimum of 5 years’ proven warehouse management experience in warehouses larger than 20,000 SF.
· OSHA training certificate 10, 30 or 60.
· Forklift certification with a minimum of 5 years forklift operating experience.
· Complete understanding of how handheld scanning devices operate and interface with software.
· Must have proven history operating an inventory management software.
· Must have created, documented, and implemented training programs previously.
· Proficient with Microsoft office.
· Strong Communication Skills- The ability to positively and effectively communicate with varying personality types.
· Possess the ability to effectively teach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback.
· Team building not alliance building: The ability to turn a group of individuals who work solo and build them into a team pursuing the achievement of shared goals.
· Resourceful: The ability to use the resources available.
