Role:Foster the demand for real estate lending at Radiant, offer mortgage information and take applications from potential borrowers of the credit union. Cross sell other credit union products as appropriate including deposit accounts, consumer and business loans, ancillary products and services from the credit union and its partners.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Meet with those seeking information and/or desiring to submit an application for preapproval or approval of a mortgage loan product offered by Radiant or a partner of Radiant. Counsel those persons to determine their needs and how they may best be served by the credit union. Take complete and accurate mortgage applications; obtain all necessary support documentation for the action sought. Submit complete packages for processing and underwriting.
- Establish and maintain referral relationships with title companies, real estate brokers, and other real estate-related professionals, including but not limited to joining and attending meetings of professional groups and making sales calls.
- Keeps informed of changes to credit union and secondary market products and secondary market production requirements.
- Assist with the organization of and participate in credit union sponsored mortgage related activities such as workshops and seminars. Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:1.
Maintain a professional image and standards.

Have transportation available and travel throughout the credit union service area (primarily our chartered counties and counties contiguous to those) as needed to meet with applicants, title companies, and other real estate contacts.

Work with credit union employees to promote efficiency, timely closings and member goodwill.
4.
Maintain a working knowledge of those products offered by the credit union and its secondary market partner(s) and prequalify members based on their needs and program restrictions.
5.
Maintain a working knowledge of real estate related federal and state laws and regulations.
6.
Meet production goals as established by performance standards.
7.
Meet with those requesting mortgage loan counseling and/or application, within reason, at their convenience.
Knowledge and Skills:Experience
One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills
1. Detailed knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
2. Must be able to type, use PC, including MS Outlook and general office equipment including 10-key calculator.
3. Must have good communication skills.
4. Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate orally, listening and talking . Ability to drive, walk, and sit. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
