Job Summary:
Wholesome Generation is seeking a talented and experienced Elementary/early Middle School Teacher, to become part of our teaching team in a full-day, Reggio-inspired program for nature, science, and outdoor loving students.
Wholesome Generation’s school model fosters students’ passion for learning by providing an authentic learning environment that invites interaction, cooperation, and multiple approaches to intellectual exploration.
In our Elementary, and Middle school programs, our focus is on social emotional learning, science, ecology conservation and sustainability, regenerative gardening, literacy, healthy food and lifestyle, and equine therapy.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop Reggio-inspired and nature focused curricula with children and adult colleagues
- Use documentation to make learning visible to the children, parents, and larger community, and as the basis of your own reflection and professional growth, such as Assessments, and Learning Plans. Create student/learner recommendations as needed
- Communicate an image of the child as curious, competent, and capable of building knowledge
- Communicate an image of the teacher as a careful listener, a co-researcher, and a responsible guide
- Create a classroom space that is accessible, provocative, responsive, and beautiful
- Collaborate and communicate effectively and happily with colleagues and with parents
- Model flexibility where needed, with a need to be proactive to create solutions in a team environment
- Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth
- Demonstrate interest and ability to contribute beyond the classroom (to the school, the community, and in the field of education) and carry high integrity in all interactions
- Lead by example in your commitment to Wholesome Generation’s mission and ability and willingness to attend team meetings, communicate effectively with our Administration and Director, and parent community.
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by our Executive Director, or Educational Director, in creation with our Elementary Lead Coordinator.
Ideally, we are welcoming a team member with a bachelor’s degree (required), with a minimum of one to two years lead-teacher experience in a progressive, constructivist, or Reggio-inspired elementary alternative school setting; teaching experience focused on ELA/Literacy and Reading preferred.
Skills:
- Proficient in proofreading educational materials
- Experience providing academic support to students
- Strong skills in lesson planning
- Knowledge of early intervention techniques
- Familiarity with education administration practices
- Excellent and warm communication skills to effectively educate and engage with students and their families
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
SALARY & HOLISTIC BENEFITS
This position is a full-time (Mo-Fri) in person salaried position, with a salary based on overall mentoring/non-profit and teaching experience and in collaboration with a healthy and balanced benefits package (7 weeks of paid time off, in addition to PTO’s, and holistic services). We also provide on-going professional support and training opportunities.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
