The Direct Support Professional/In-Home Caregiver assists the individual with developmental disabilities to meet his/her personal independent living goals. The caregiver works in a wide range of environments i.e. the individual's home, the individual's work place, the individual's place of volunteering or anywhere the individual needs assistance from staff. The direct support professional/in-home caregiver needs to be a dynamic person who can work in a variety of places, have flexible work hours, use community connections to advance the individuals' goals and have the caregiving heart of a teacher.
The ideal candidate will have strong social and customer service skills, have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to work various shifts. We offer flexible scheduling which will be discussed during an interview. This job requires a current driver's license, the use of employee's car, and proof of auto insurance. Mileage is reimbursed by the company.
Current need for Direct Support Professional positions: early mornings, day hours, evenings and weekends. Every other weekend shifts are required but flexible shifts available. Weekend shift lengths can vary from 2 hours to 8-hour shifts based on availability. A $1.00 shift differential increase is applied to all hours worked starting on Fridays at 4:00 pm through Mondays at 8:00 am.
Starting pay for awake hours is $15.00 per hour and $8.25 per hour for sleep pay with 50 cent increase upon module trainings complete and after a favorable performance evaluation in 90 days. Starting pay is negotiable if proof of work-related experience is provided.
