The Radiation Protection Specialist/Associate Health Physicist under the direction of Radiation Safety Officer will support the radiation safety program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and affiliates including Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Oncology, and Research departments. This position will support the enforcement of State and Federal Regulations governing the use of radioactive materials on Cedars-Sinai Broad Scope Radioactive Material License. This includes the support of the Radiation Safety Committee meetings and review/approval of Institutional Review Board protocols. The incumbent must have great speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians (Authorized Users). Additionally, they must perform audits of clinical and research departments, radiation survey & decontamination of radioactive material use areas, radiation lab close-outs, radiation safety training of staff, QC tests of dose calibrators and well counters, manage the radioactive waste program, collaborate with the radiation safety team, and assist the Radiation Safety Officer in all aspects of radiation safety program including establishing and reviewing radiation safety policies and procedures.
