The Service Technician provides unparalleled hospitality by engaging with customers and Epicenter Cycling staff with positive energy, respect, empathy, and a natural passion for cycling. The Service Technician helps create a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture that staff is proud to be a part of, and customers from all backgrounds feel welcomed in. The Service Technician has strong interpersonal skills as well as mechanical, by being reliable, approachable, empathetic, and proactive.
The Service Technician builds and maintains exceptional relationships with customers and ensures their equipment is functioning to their expectation at the completion of service. Has the ability to translate a passion for cycling into impeccable service, and demonstrates an ability to make customers cycling dreams come true.
Responsibilities
- Follow up on work orders and customer inquiries related to service in a timely manner and with empathy.
- Writes up to 50% of work orders.
- Consistently hits 24- hour service turn-around for all repairs.
- Thoroughly check-in bicycles for repairs, paying attention to the context, goals, and concerns of the customer.
- Repairs and troubleshoots bicycles of all kinds.
- Performs on-the-spot repairs.
- Installs accessories on new bike purchases.
- Participates in training, and development to become a subject matter expert (SME).
- Connects customers to service recommendations and products that will propel them in their cycling journey, and enhance their riding experience.
- Monitors, and follows up on service metrics. Works with the service manager to implement improvement plans to address underperforming areas.
- Makes detailed and articulate notes on each work order throughout the repair process.
