JOB DESCRIPTION MACHINIST
I. BASIC FUNCTION
Reporting to the owner, hold responsibility for review of information for production, measuring, operation of equipment and quality assurance of parts. Works as an essential part of a small team to ensure all details of the company is handled in an efficient and appropriate manner.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints and samples to ensure accurate production. Takes precise measurements for cutting and shaping and follows set procedures. Plans task sequence and safely operates required equipment (such as lathes or milling machines), to make parts that meet specifications and quality requirements
- Monitors production and makes adjustments and settings to meet specifications. Checks output for quality, documents and discards defects. Identifies need for, and performs machine maintenance and minor repair.
- Maintains inventory of completed products and completes records, as required.
- Follows safety and housekeeping rules to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Proactively seeks other items to accomplish, with approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
III. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Works as a team member within and around the company to maintain a high level of professionalism and keep team informed and prepared. Keep the manufacturing smoothly running and work with team to resolve problems. High level of professionalism, extreme confidentiality and excellent communication skills are required. Pleasant to clients and associates, courteous to co-workers, offering a friendly presence.
IV. RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for assigned production functions including attention to detail and safety. Minimalization of quality and safety issues while meeting production goals.
V. WORK HOURS AND TRAVELING
4 DAY WORK WEEK! Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM . Some overtime may be required. No traveling expected but may be required
VI. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma required at a minimum. Math, reading and writing proficiency required, along with basic computer skills. BRING A SOLID WORK HISTORY. Must be detail oriented, flexible, self directed and able to solve problems within a team setting. Excellent coordination and mechanical skills a must. Pleasant, professional presence. Proof of ability to be responsible, proactive and work independently as well as within a small team is required. Must be 18 years or older.
