Shifts Work Hours based on location: (able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as required)
- B28 location: Monday through Friday 6am – 2:30pm (30 min lunch) - 1 vacancy
- Applewhite location: Monday through Friday 6am – 2:30pm (30 min lunch)- 1 vacancy
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Team Lead will oversee and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team and when necessary outside contractors. This role involves ensuring the proper maintenance and repair of all machinery and auxiliary equipment, optimizing machine performance, and minimizing downtime to support continuous production operations. The Maintenance Team Lead will also play a critical role in implementing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance tasks to team members, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
- Escalates any performance issues to Supervisor for timely correction.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of presses, auxiliary equipment, and facilities.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring quick and efficient problem resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
- Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team and throughout the plant.
- Report injuries or pains to Supervisor and implement and audit corrective actions/countermeasures as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the maintenance department.
- Collaborate with other departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-year manufacturing experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in automotive industry.
- Minimum of 2 years as Team Leader in manufacturing industry, preferably.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Computer Skills:
- Beginner to intermediate level in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and in the use of e-mail, web browser applications.
Mathematical Abilities:
Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:
- Minimal analytical, planning skills and critical thinking ability required with orientation for continuous improvement.
Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning)
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)
- In-depth knowledge of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and related maintenance practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage a variety of projects and tasks.
- Takes initiative, approaches others in a positive and constructive manner, and works well independently to achieve results.
- Must be able to work with a wide variety of personalities to create a positive work environment, and professionally resolve conflicts.
Physical Requirements:
- 100% of the time will be spent on the production plant floors walking, standing and engaged in the activities associated with the role.
- Be comfortable with lifting, squatting, and repetitive motion.
- Must be able to team lift a minimum of 50 pounds, 25 pounds alone.
- Be able to work in an environment that is climate controlled but is exposed to potential heat, rain, and cold.
Internal Applicants Must:
- Be outside of their 90-day probationary period and have 6 months in their current role.
- Have no active Step 2 on file (attendance or otherwise)
