Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and assistance to clients in their homes or care facilities
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding, adhering to dietary restrictions if applicable
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients
- Document client progress and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
Skills:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of direct support techniques and principles of social work
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain a positive attitude
- Basic understanding of personal care tasks, including ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with dementia or memory loss
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client errands or appointments
