Qualifications
The Showroom Manager is responsible for managing the operation of the showroom to maximize results and the achievement while ensuring the team is engaged and fulfilling their duties to the required standard. They recruit and lead the team, allocate tasks, coach performance, and build motivation. They foster a strong sense of teamwork. They are responsible for the delivery of products and experience to customers to a consistently high standard. An entrepreneurial nature to lead retail operations of the showroom and interface with customers, contractors and designers, and architects.Additionally, you will be responsible for managing a small team of inside sales representatives. Candidates with a book of business are preferred and dually compensated. Higher level education required. BA or BFA degree or MFA preferred
To be successful, you will have:
· Three (3+) or more years’ progressive experience as lighting supervisor, electrician, interior design, or similar professional in a retail environment with 2+ years managing people in store
· Demonstrates a high level of business acumen with the ability to analyze reports and identify business trends and opportunities
· Passion to inspire, coach and lead a team with a high level of integrity and professionalism
· Experience with retail scheduling and inventory systems as well as retail policies and processes
· High attention to detail, independent, self-reliant, tenacious, self-starter
· Flexibility to work a retail schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Technical knowledge to install lighting fixtures and fans for showroom displays
· Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in and call-in customers, assisting them with their lighting needs
· Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the showroom
· Assist with create displays for new products and merchandise
· Collaborate with manufacturer representatives to schedule product training, lunch and learns etc
· Ensure sales budgets are met through competence, leadership and customer focus
· Must be able to comfortably negotiate stairs, ladders as required, and work in confined spaces.
· Ability to create and hang lighting fixtures
· Maintain lighting vendor relations
· Work with designers and construction leads to manage and maximize impact of financial resources.
· Evaluate designs, create materials and labor estimates.
· Manage and be responsible for budgets and keep accurate records of spending for the department.
· Hire, train, and supervise staff
· scheduling and coordinating staff, reps, and the preparation and installation of all lighting elements
· Maintain accurate inventories of all lighting equipment and track its use, recordkeeping, and incident reporting.
· Create and contribute to developing campaigns, showroom events, direct digital marketing, group discussion, meetings, post mortems, etc.
· Create and maintain client database for digital marketing and social mea outreach
· Communicate information to owner and staff as appropriate.
· Teach workshops, talk about the company and meet with constituent groups
· Lead staff meetings, create and manage a proactive sales and business development approach to target and convert new prospective customers
· Demonstrate and ensure customer service excellence to maximize customer retention
· Actively support and participate in the sales process and customer interaction both inside and outside of the showroom
· Maintain sales floor and all other showroom areas, including stock room, in an organized manner to enhance safety and efficiency
· Coordinate with internal teams to drive successful showroom product resets, build outs, and installations
· Coordinate activities to facilitate shipping and receiving in accordance with established procedures
· Contract appropriate external resources (cleaning crew, maintenance) to support showroom operations - order and maintain office and cleaning supplies
· Ensure showrooms are open and ready for business each day
· Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
· Proven ability to generate leads, develop business relationships, and effectively close deals in partnership with sales team
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required. Communication & Reporting:
· Routinely communicate store status including sales, returns, aging, personnel and request assistance as needed
· Prepare timely monthly reporting in accordance with company requirements
· Ensure accurate showroom inventory, sales reports and bank records
· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
