Position Summary:
Performs facility maintenance preventive and repair duties as assigned including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on equipment and machinery used in the operation of food processing, packaging, and air handling. This position also facility/building maintenance up to and including light electrical, and plumbing repair.
The position level for hire will be assigned based on experience and skill level against the job requirements for each technician level II – IV.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Prepare machinery for scheduled production runs, i.e., able to assist with equipment changeovers.
- Complete work orders and perform required preventative maintenance on all building and facilities systems.
- Complete lubrication tasks and work orders throughout the facility.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of heating and cooling systems (basic boiler, steam, refrigeration).
- Open, review, and complete work orders, PMs, sensors, and breakdowns in the Redzone software platform.
- Comply with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) safety & health rules.
- Submit parts lists required for assigned tasks (identifying required replacement parts)
- Understand and adhere to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Policy & all safety policies.
- Complete Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks, as assigned.
- Assist with rebuilds and overhauls.
- Certify in and maintain Volpi forklift and pallet jack certification (required for movement up to Level
Levels II-IV may include:
- Mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
- Electrical and HVAC maintenance & repairs
- Preventative maintenance and production equipment changeovers, machine overhauls
- Troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment
- First Aid Certification
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a mechanical discipline or an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related technical discipline.
- Experience in food manufacturing (meat, dairy, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills.
- Ability to learn and understand technical training provided.
- Ability to follow directions of more experienced Maintenance Technicians.
- Willingness to be flexible and work weekends occasionally to support needed maintenance.
Physical Demands:
- Candidate must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, and pull.
- Must be able to work in an environment between 40-65 degrees.
- Must be able to work around dust and mold and spices.
- Must be able to wear a hairnet, gloves, and hearing protection.

Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
