Summary
The primary goal of the individual in this role is to effectively manage and distribute different types of medical gases across the hospital and clinic locations based upon direction from Logistics Supervisor. Using knowledge of safety requirements and healthcare regulatory requirements in regards to proper handling, use, and storage of cylinders.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates degree preferred or 3-4 Years of warehousing experience
Military experience strongly preferred
Shift
Second Shift approximately 3:30PM until midnight
Essential Functions
Job Duties
Performs medical gas inventory for manifold racks in main medical storage rooms
Ensure surgical areas are supplied with proper specialty gas cylinders.
Replenishes Oxygen tanks to equipment rooms for hospitals and clinics.
Assists with unloading gas cylinders from delivery truck.
Checks for cylinder quantities, product, and/or assist with inventory.
Maintains a clean work area to ensure compliance and safety regulations.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Reports necessary regulatory or compliance related concerns to direct supervisor.
Completes time sensitive gas cylinders deliveries as needed.
Completes both routine and non-routine daily and weekly assignments.
Inspect gas cylinders for damage or deformity.
Performs gas cylinder maintenance and conducts safety checks as needed.
Safely operates warehouse material-handling equipment.
Special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Must be able to push/pull up to 50lbs
Must be able to lift up to 20lbs
Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours.
Ability to be self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in different areas as needed
Knowledge or ability to learn computer software systems.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read, write and speak English effectively Knowledge of handling gas cylinders preferred.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a hospital or hospital clinic environment. Walking, standing, bending, turning, stooping, pushing and lifting.
