Full-time Medical Assistant/LPN/Registered Nurse Opportunity in Birmingham, AL
Job Statement:
The Medical Assistant/LPN/RN is responsible for assisting the Providers with patient/client care and procedures. The position will also involve completing clinical procedures such as obtaining vital signs and medical histories. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for educating patients and promoting/selling products.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist Providers with medical and cosmetic procedures.
2. Transcribing chart notes.
3. Perform clinical procedures included but not limited to obtaining vital signs, patient histories, bandaging, giving injections, and preparing samples.
4. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients including sterilizing equipment, cleaning rooms, stocking rooms, and setting up surgery trays.
5. Assist with scheduling surgeries and preparing surgery charts and obtaining precertification’s from insurance companies.
6. Responsible for patient education/teaching based on the Provider’s recommendations as well as follow up calls after surgery.
7. Answer patient questions and make patient call backs.
8. Promote/sell products.
9. Follow HIPPA/OSHA rules and regulations.
10. Other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Diploma or certification
- LPN or RN degree
- 1-2 years medical assistant experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and complete tasks with a sense of urgency
- Experience working as part of a team
- Strong customer service
- Computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well verbally and written
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
- Ability to bend and lift as required for the job
