An estimator in our company is responsible for accurately assessing the cost of countertop fabrication projects by analyzing construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. The role involves preparing detailed estimates, collaborating with sales and production teams, and ensuring that all projects are competitively priced and profitable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation Job Summary: The:
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Calculate quantities and costs for stone, hardware, and installation supplies.
- Quotation and Proposal Development:
- Generate accurate and competitive quotes for customers.
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals to clients in a timely manner.
- Follow up with clients to discuss quotes and make adjustments as needed.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and expectations.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure estimates are feasible and align with production capabilities.
- Assist in project scheduling and resource allocation based on estimates.
- Customer Interaction:
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the estimation and project process.
- Address any concerns or issues related to estimates and pricing.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, quotes, and related documents.
- Prepare regular reports on estimation activities and project status.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator in the construction or countertop fabrication industry.
- Strong knowledge of countertop materials, fabrication processes, and installation techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and technical drawings.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized estimating organization.
- Experience with CAD or Estimating software and project management tools.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
