Job Purpose
As a member of the production planning team, the Demand Planning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment and grow our “Safety First Culture”
- Distribute production schedules to departments
- Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities
- Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules
- Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
- Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, or engineering
- Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, or quality control measures
- Perform related duties as required or assigned by supervision
Skills and Knowledge
Qualifications include:
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, supply chain management, production scheduling, and business system integration.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks and projects
- Attention to detail with respect to data entry and paperwork
- Computer proficiency adequate to understand how information is managed Made2Manage software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of service in profession (Required)
- Manufacturing: 5+ years (Preferred)
- Production Scheduling: 5+ years (Preferred)
- ERP: 5+ years (Preferred)
Work Environment
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job
- Work is primarily indoors, but may require occasional activity in an outdoor environment
- Performing duties outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is required
- Will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby communications
