The Traverso lab is focused on translational medicine. Our main goal is to help people through the use of medicine and engineering. Research projects involve medical devices that can range from diagnostic, drug delivery, surgical, and implantable devices. Dr. Giovanni Traverso is a Physician-Scientist who is an Associate Professor at MIT Mechanical Engineering, and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Division of Gastroenterology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH).
Position Overview: In this role, you will work on a clinical research project involving comprehensive chart review, data extraction, and data analysis under the supervision of a clinical researcher, with the opportunity to collaborate with others within the laboratory. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in clinical research and contribute to advancing healthcare knowledge.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews of medical records and extract relevant data in accordance with study protocols
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of collected data, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
- Enter and manage data into research database, ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Provide regular updates on project progress via regular meetings
- Collaborate with the research team on statistical analysis
- Summarize and document results/findings
An ideal candidate will have experience with chart review projects and/or clinical exposure as well as basic knowledge of biostatistics. Applicants interested in careers in medicine or medical research are preferred.
