Prime Turbines is a division of Precision Aviation Group (PAG), a leader in the MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) industry for general aviation aircraft. PTB, has over three decades as a leading independent turboprop engine maintenance, repair and overhaul company specializing in the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A & PT6T, located in Carrollton, Texas.
Prime Turbines team is currently seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Materials Manager to provide leadership of Material and Supply Chain Management activities for the division to include materials planning, scheduling, inventory control, cash flow management, information flow and coordination and asset management. Work with suppliers, business unit managers, purchasing, production planners, IT, and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through procurement to delivery. Matrix management responsibilities with business units and support groups for production planning, shipping, receiving and inventory functions. Provide primary direct leadership and management of Purchasing and Supplier Quality functions for the Carrollton, TX facility, and secondary dotted line material oversite for the Mesa, AZ and Butler, PA facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price
- Lead the materials team in the development and use of the ERP system Quantum.
- Provide secondary dotted line oversite to other facilities for overall materials management, and alignment of process.
- Accountable for division materials metrics and Standards of Performance.
- Lead sourcing and procurement strategies with an emphasis on speed, cost reduction and secondary suppliers
- Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery to support a supply chain management strategy
- Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives including common part numbers, supplier managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction and supplier quality certifications
- Leads Material Review Board (MRB) in evaluating and disposing of rejected material
- Drives improvements in inventory accuracy/cycle count and inventory location accuracy
- Advise on supplier managed inventory or supplier-based contracts with customers
- Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement, or inventory control functions
- Work closely with Finance to prepare and manage department budget within established guidelines
- Effectively create and sustain procurement to delivery material and system cost reduction programs
- Provide leadership for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures
- Actively support and implement lean principles at the division
- Facilitate Kanban, materials requirement planning technique, throughout the division
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years applicable purchasing/materials management experience in a high-volume repair or manufacturing environment, aviation experience preferred
- Extensive managerial experience including supply chain management, cash flow and asset management
- Four-year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required or 5 years’ experience in scheduling and planning leading in a process diverse repair or manufacturing environment.
- Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Extensive working knowledge of Quantum Controls ERP and Microsoft PC software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentations)
