Responsibilities:
Package Preparation:
Portion and package various products made in-house according to customer orders and shop standards.
Ensure the accurate labeling of packages with product information, weights, and pricing.
Collaborate with the team to coordinate packaging based on daily production needs.
Quality Control:
Conduct thorough inspections of all packaged products to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards.
Identify and address any packaging issues, including leaks, tears, or improperly sealed packages.
Maintain a clean and organized packaging area to uphold hygiene and food safety standards.
Inventory Management:
Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels of packaging materials such as bags, labels, and wrapping supplies.
Communicate with the inventory team to reorder packaging materials as needed to avoid shortages.
Customer Service:
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to fulfill customer requests and provide information on packaged products.
Address customer inquiries regarding packaging and assist with special requests or custom orders.
Adherence to Regulations:
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of meat products and adherence to packaging guidelines.
Stay informed about relevant food safety regulations and participate in ongoing training programs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a packaging role within a butcher shop or similar environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in weighing and labeling.
- Knowledge of proper food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and select holidays.
