Dental Sleep Medicine is a unique field where we treat Sleep Apnea and snoring. There are no training programs available for Clinical Assistants in our field. We have the unique opportunity to identify and train talented individuals who have a passion for helping others maximize their health and wellness in this case, by managing their sleep disorder. Training is provided on site and is paid. Our staff progress through a training program from Assistant Level I through Level IV.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accompany healthcare providers during patient encounters to accurately document physical examinations, and treatment plans.
- Enter medical information into electronic health records (EHR) systems in real-time.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate and complete documentation.
- Provide patient education on oral appliance insertion, removal, cleaning etc. (training provided).
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information.
- Set-up and break down rooms utilizing infection control procedures.
- Room patients and review questionnaires for completion and clarity.
- Review financial estimate prepared by insurance team.
- Take Dental CT X-Ray (training provided).
- Take digital impressions of teeth and bite (training provided).
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience as a counselor or social worker, medical scribe, dental/ortho assistant, or medical assistant with expanded duties is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures in the specific field (e.g., Sleep Medicine or Dentistry) is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient typing skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems is a plus.
DETAILS:
- Travel between to different offices is required. Parking is available on site.
Options (4 x 10hr shifts. 7am - 5:30pm)
- Tues: Skokie,
- Wed & Thur: Streeterville/Chicago,
- Friday: Either Skokie or Lombard
- Reliable vehicle is required.
