The Bilingual Outreach and Community Relations Coordinator for the Greater Richmond Region (GRR) will support the LIVE Center’s mission, primarily through engaging communities in our work through outreach efforts. Responsibilities include the following:
- Develop and maintain relationships, both formal and informal, with allied organizations, community members, and other service providers
- Prepare monthly newsletter and other social media communications in English and Spanish
- Proofread and edit documents in English and Spanish
- Identify resources available to Spanish speaking victims in the GRR and maintain a culturally appropriate directory of resources
- Work alongside the Outreach Coordinator to prepare and distribute education and outreach materials, and organize and/or participate in community events, forums, training events and cultural celebrations (virtual and in-person)
- Manage the Volunteer Program, including ensuring all volunteers/interns are fully trained, engaged with the organization, and are appropriately recognized through appreciation events and interactions
- Manage the Latino HUB, including building and maintaining relationships with partnered agencies, ensuring MOUs are up-to-date, and scheduling HUB appointments
- Provide technical assistance for allied service agencies working to address services for people who have experienced or who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, and other types of intimate partner violence.
- Manage donations (cash and in-kind) accept, sort and properly store, ensure timely acknowledgments, maintain donor database
- Ensure accurately and timely documentation and reports, including Network4Good, community engagement data entries in VAdata, and grant reports for the CEO as needed
- Conduct basic daily administrative/maintenance tasks to contribute to smooth functioning of office operations
- Participate on the first line of response for the hotline to provide voluntary trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate services.
- Assist the CEO on special projects as needed
- Exhibit congruence between the mission and values of The LIVE Center and her/his interactions with the community/clients
- Thoroughly understand and abide by The LIVE Center’s policies and correctly implement all procedures
- Other duties, as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
- English-Spanish Bilingual, and Bicultural
- Extensive knowledge of the Latino/Hispanic culture and the resources available in Richmond, Virginia
- Excellent writing, public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a compassionate and professional approach while working with people in crisis situations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to multi-task
- Demonstrate effective critical thinking strategies and appropriate decision making
- Strong computer skills. Experience with Google Suite as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Reliable transportation and a valid VA state driver’s license
- Successful background check
