Job Type: Wine Steward
Overview: As a Wine Steward at Cuvée Wine and Piano Bar, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for curating a world-class wine selection and delivering exceptional customer experiences. We specialize in offering a diverse range of wines from renowned vineyards around the globe, ensuring our clientele experiences the best of international and local varietals.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting patrons in selecting wines that complement their tastes and preferences.
- Sales and Upselling: Utilize expert knowledge to recommend and upsell wines, enhancing customer satisfaction and driving sales.
- Training and Education: You will be expected to continue wine training education in order to provide customers on wine varietals, tasting notes to enhance their overall experience.
- Inventory Management: Manage wine inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of flight wines along with food/supply inventories, while maintaining quality and freshness.
- Events and Tastings: Help organize and conduct wine tastings and events to promote wines and piano bar by engaging customers.
- Maintaining Standards: Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation within the wine storage and service areas.
- Energetic Piano Bar: We are seeking an individual with exceptional stamina and high energy to excel during our lively piano bar evenings!
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Wine Steward or similar role in a high-end restaurant or wine bar.
- Expertise: Extensive knowledge of wines from around the world, including varietals and regions.
- Sales Skills: Proven track record in sales and upselling, with the ability to increase revenue through wine sales.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact confidently with customers and colleagues.
- Certification: Certification from recognized wine education programs (e.g., WSET) preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift cases of wine as necessary.
