Position Overview:
The Production and Operations Manager will be an integral figure in overseeing our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient operations, optimizing production, and maintaining our commitment to quality. This leadership role requires close collaboration with various departments to ensure that our candles are produced to the highest standard and in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced on time, efficiently, and in line with quality standards.
2. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize production processes, seeking ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
3. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and safety.
4. Inventory Control: Ensure optimal inventory levels by coordinating with the procurement team, managing storage, and monitoring supply chain operations.
5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure that products meet or exceed established quality standards.
6. Budget Management: Develop and oversee the production budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
7. Safety Protocols: Implement and maintain safety standards, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
8. Reporting: Regularly update senior management on production metrics, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
9. Supplier and Vendor Relations: Foster positive relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts when necessary.
10. Product Development: Work with the design and marketing teams to assist in the development and launch of new products.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or operations management role, preferably in the candle or similar industry.
3. Proficient in production software and tools.
4. Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development.
5. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
6. Deep understanding of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing operational efficiency.
7. Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulatory compliance.
