Controller
The Controller plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting, payroll and control functions of the company and is responsible for all external financial reporting and financial audits.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements accounting, external reporting, and control systems responsive to the companies managerial and fiduciary needs.
- Directs and administers general accounting, payroll, receiving and disbursement of funds, purchasing, cashflow management, similar operational functions, and maintenance and reconciliation of related records. Interacts with all levels of management to ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepares external financial statements and external operating reports. Plans and coordinates year-end audit by independent auditors and related year-end external financial statements and tax returns. Interacts with staff and external auditors.
- Manages accounts payables and receivables, 401K, and health insurance benefits.
- Meets external reporting requirements. Designs and supervises preparation and distribution of reports as required for internal control and for external reporting purposes. Interacts with staff, department heads and outside agencies.
- Initiates financial analysis and recommendations as appropriate. Provides advice on accounting / financial matters.
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with outside vendors providing services to the company, such as, but not limited to, insurance, banking, investments, and auditing.
- Implements and maintains strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll.
Qualifications (Education, Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred. Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience required in accounting capacity
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a Controller or senior officer in a Controller's office with responsibility for accounting functions; preferably with an annual operating budget of at least $10 million.
- Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, well developed financial analysis capabilities, and demonstrated proficiency in computer and management information systems.
- Demonstrated administrative and supervisory skills.
- Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
- Superior accounting, computer, and numeric skills.
- Well organized.
- Participative management style; advocates team concept.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to get along well with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, and flexible.
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive; but able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $92,000.00 - $124,000.00 per year
