Menla’s Dewa Spa in Phoenicia, NY is seeking an Assistant Spa Manager to join our team at the stunning Tibetan-inspired Dewa Spa, nestled within the serene 330-acre retreat center in the Catskill Mountains. Our facility features eleven treatment rooms, Finnish and far infrared saunas, steam rooms, rain showers, herbal soaking tubs, and a relaxation lounge, offering a truly unique spa experience.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager with an outgoing disposition and friendly professional demeanor. The ideal candidate will support the Spa Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the highest standards of service and quality. This role requires strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and being able to maintain an atmosphere of peace and warmth, while being flexible and adaptive in all situations.
Responsibilities include supporting the Spa Manager in the daily operations of the spa, ensuring all areas are running smoothly and efficiently. Assistance and oversight of appointment scheduling, opening and closing procedures, handling client transactions, treatment room set ups, working with the Spa Director, as well as some light housekeeping.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the scheduling of appointments and staff to optimize service delivery and resource utilization, as well as assisting in the scheduling of spa services, and answering guest questions
- Creating and maintaining spa staffing schedule
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
- Ensure all spa areas are clean and organized
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance
- Ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Process payroll
- Handle cash box
- Prepare reports and assist the Spa Manager with financial analysis and budgeting
- Monitor staff performance, addressing any issues and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Greet and assist guests, addressing their needs and resolving any issues promptly to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Ensure all spa services are performed to the highest standards and in accordance with established protocols
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance service quality
Qualifications:
-Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality or wellness industry preferred
-Strong leadership and team management skills
-Excellent customer service, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast paced environment
-Familiarity with spa management software a plus
