Position Summary:
As a Residential Support Specialist, your primary role will be to provide quality programming and supportive care for substance-abusing women and their children. You will work directly with clients, providing supervision, counseling, and assistance with daily living skills. Your efforts will contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of services to meet the unique needs of this special population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and document clinical activities.
- Supervise consumers and their children in the residential setting and community.
- Monitor cleanliness and safety of the residential site.
- Model appropriate behavior and provide skills development around daily living and parenting.
- Assist in identifying consumer needs and monitoring progress.
- Communicate effectively with the team and supervisors on a daily basis.
- Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Provide child watch and contribute to consequences as required.
- Advocate for the needs of consumers and their children.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of work experience, preferably in direct healthcare or related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
