Job Title: Digital Press Operator
Department: Printing/Production 2nd shift
Reports To: Production Manager/Supervisor
Location: Fletcher, NC
Job Summary:
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining digital printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role involves setting up the press, monitoring production runs, troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all printed materials meet the company's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Press Operation:
- Set up and operate digital printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Adjust press settings to achieve desired print quality and meet customer requirements.
- Load and unload substrates and printing materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Quality Control:
- Inspect printed materials for quality, ensuring color accuracy, registration, and overall print quality.
- Perform adjustments as needed to maintain print quality throughout the production run.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure finished products meet quality standards before packaging.
- Other duties as assigned.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance on digital presses, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or technical issues that arise during the printing process.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor.

Job Management:
- Review and interpret job orders to determine production specifications and requirements.
- Manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of each.
- Coordinate with prepress and postpress teams to ensure smooth workflow and job accuracy.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including job orders, press settings, and material usage.
- Prepare production reports and provide feedback to improve efficiency and quality.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in printing technology preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating digital printing presses.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining digital presses (e.g., HP Indigo, Xerox, Canon, or similar). Knowledge of color management and prepress processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Work Environment:
