Behavior Technician
Duties:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Collect and record data on client behaviors during therapy sessions
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Use applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors
- Assist with crisis management and de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including BCBA, therapists, and families
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client progress and behavior observations
- Follow all medical documentation procedures and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Understanding of medical terminology related to autism and behavioral health
Skills:
- Data collection: Ability to collect accurate data on client behaviors during therapy sessions
- Crisis management: Proficiency in implementing crisis intervention techniques when necessary
- Social work: Understanding of social work principles and ability to apply them in therapy sessions
- Applied behavior analysis: Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques for behavior modification

- Medical documentation: Ability to maintain accurate medical documentation according to HIPAA regulations
- Special education: Familiarity with special education practices and principles for working with individuals with disabilities
- Working with people with autism: Experience working directly with individuals on the autism spectrum
- Medical terminology: Understanding of medical terms and concepts related to autism and behavioral health
- HIPAA: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
