About Casa Angelica
Casa Angelica is a nonprofit Intermediate Care Facility (ICF/IID) serving 16 children and young adults who have severe to profound developmental disabilities and are medically fragile, established and operated as a ministry of the Canossian Daughters of Charity since 1967. Casa Angelica provides a family centered program with personalized Active Treatment Plans designed to enhance everyone’s unique gifts through spiritual, educational, activities, therapies, experiences and social development. The Canossian Sisters’ vision is to enable the children to grow up in an environment that is loving, safe and comfortable, a reflection of a loving family home.
Open Position:
Full-time RN/LPN: Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm with the option to pick up additional hours after training has been completed. (NIGHT-SHIFT, 9:00 pm – 6:00 am AND WEEKEND GET DIFFERENTIAL PAY)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to children and young adults with severe/profound developmental disabilities who are medically fragile residing at Casa Angelica.
- Administer medications, manage feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and other medical equipment.
- Conduct regular health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document any changes to the resident’s condition. Respond promptly to any medical emergencies.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with the Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate and support families on the resident’s medical condition, offering support and guidance when needed.
- Contribute positively to a team approach and maintain a family home atmosphere while respecting the dignity and confidentiality of all residents.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for all residents.
- Ensure all nursing practices comply with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Accurately document all care and treatment provided, maintaining detailed records in accordance with Casa Angelica's policies and procedures.
- Keep up with facility communications by reading, signing, and dating all memos and attending all In Services.
Qualifications and skills: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, RN or LPN, Current New Mexico RN or LPN license with 2 years’ experience, preferred. Ability to re-position, lift, and transfer residents safely using proper techniques. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families. All prospective employeesmust be able to pass a Caregivers Criminal History Screen, TB test, and pre-employment drug screen. We offer training and CPR Certification.
