Job Description
Position Title: Valet Attendant
Reports To: Valet Manager
Scope of Position:
Enjoying meeting and speaking with people from all over the planet while spending time outdoors and making money? This is the job for you! Park First valet attendants interact with guests staying in Mobile's finest hotels and provide information to those guests while handling their vehicles and luggage.
Position Objective:
To assist our guests with questions, to provide great customer service, to take great care of the vehicles being handled and have fun while making tips!
Position Schedule:
Park First understands a healthy life requires balancing work and leisure time and does its best to work around the schedules of its employees. This position can be full time or part time depending on an applicants other commitments. Please make sure to communicate what shift you are available to work, how many hours you are available per week and we can find a schedule that works for both parties.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sprint short distances
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6 or 8 hours, less break)
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds (luggage)
- Ability to calculate rate offhand, without the help of a calculator or fee computer
- Ability to use hands and arms in repeated motions (parking vehicles, lifting luggage)
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to operate a standard shift vehicle
- Must be able to run for cars at all times
- Highly visible position requires a motivated and energetic attitude
Driving Requirements:
Because Valet positions involve driving customer vehicles, the following requirements apply:
- Drivers are required to notify their manager within two business days after receiving any citations or tickets for driving-related violations
- Drivers must notify their manager no later than the start of their next shift/workday if their driver’s license is suspended for any reason.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are Not Limited to:
Customer Service
- Always provide the highest level of customer service to all patrons; taking every opportunity to assist customers with questions and directions
- Always wear a clean and neat uniform and nametag
- Always smile and greet every customer
- Always speak clearly, saying “please” and “thank you”
- Always open doors for passengers
- Assist customers with any problems, special requests, and be prepared to give directions
- Report any suspicious activities to Security as soon as possible
- Always remain confident, alert and responsible
- Seek assistance when dealing with a customer dispute
Valet Handling
- Always inspect the vehicle, walking around the vehicle, verify any damage (prior or current). Notify manager or supervisor of any problems.
- Drive the vehicle to/from the assigned space carefully, never tampering with accessories or personal property of the customer.
- Follow all procedures for handling vehicles as outlined in the Valet Standard Operating Procedures Manual. Any violations of the valet procedures may result in disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations at all times.
- Remain alert for parking hazards and make adjustments in parking the vehicle accordingly.
- Report all personal injuries suffered while working to a manager or supervisor.
Ticket Handling
- Make sure a ticket is issued to each vehicle and that the customer receives the proper section of the ticket
- Write the following on each spitter ticket
- Stall number
- Ticket number
- Signature or initials (legibly)
- Always verify the claim ticket with the customer ticket to verify ownership of vehicle
- Follow all procedures for handling tickets as outlined in the Valet Standard Operating Procedures Manual. Any violations of valet procedures may result in disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination.
Other Duties
- Inventory parking area for space availability
- Assist other employees in garage clean-up
- Perform any task assigned to you by a manager or supervisor
- Follow all procedures as outlined in the Location Rules
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $7.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
