Overview:
Horizon Vascular Specialists, a premier vascular specialty practice located in Montgomery and Frederick Counties, MD, is seeking a Registered Vascular Technologist to join our testing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in vascular procedures and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and vascular diagnostic evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patient for ultrasound testing by explaining testing to be performed, collecting pertinent medical history, answering patient questions, and positioning patient for exam.
- Perform a wide array of vascular testing including carotid, aortic, peripheral venous, peripheral arterial, bypass graft, visceral and dialysis access duplex testing.
- Collect and organize data from ultrasound testing and compile a preliminary report to be submitted to provider for final interpretation.
- Assist physicians with ultrasound guided outpatient procedures by preparing sterile field and operating ultrasound machine during procedure.
- Maintain cleanliness of ultrasound machine and exam room. Properly sanitize equipment after each patient and ensure exam room is sufficiently stocked with medical supplies.
- Organize and maintain patient testing reports following final interpretation by physician.
- Ensure correct billing of patient exams by verifying testing and diagnosis codes.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship amongst team members.
Requirements of position:
- Active ARDMS certification while maintaining CME credits
- Ability to give verbal reports to physicians
- Ability to assist in patient lifting
- Ability to push/pull patient/equipment on wheels
- Proficiency with EMR and Custom Lab
- Reliable transportation
- Strong diagnostic evaluation skills for accurate patient assessments
