Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Desk Associate to be the first point of contact for our customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations by assisting with both front-end customer interactions and supporting back-office and shop floor activities, including shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers professionally.
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls, address inquiries, and direct calls as needed.
- Manage over-the-counter requests for services and sales transactions.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Process sales transactions, issue receipts, and manage cash register operations.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking.
- Support back-office tasks such as filing, data entry, and record-keeping.
Shop Floor Assistance:
- Coordinate with shop floor staff to ensure prompt processing of orders and services.
- Monitor workflow and communicate any issues to management.
- Assist with light administrative tasks on the shop floor.
Shipping and Receiving:
- Handle shipping and receiving of goods and materials.
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate and timely shipping of customer orders.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a customer service or front desk role preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with saw blades, bandsaws, woodworking, and metalworking.
- Experience with shipping and receiving tasks preferred.
- Prior experience in inventory management and restocking of retail items.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and tools.
