10-year degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering or related field, or the equivalent in experience.
· Must have 8-10 years telecommunications and optical/IP NOC experience in submarine/terrestrial optical networks.
· In-depth technical expertise in optical transport networks including Packet transport (PTN), Control Plane- GMPLS (ASON, Layer 0, Layer1), DWDM, OTN, SDH, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, Layer 2, FTTx and DOCSIS.
· Familiarity with DWDM, RAMAN, EDFA, WSS, Control Plane, Flexgrid, and CDC architecture and demonstrates significant and specialized knowledge of fiber optic principles in access network and DWDM transmission.
· Extensive skills on Different Tools for Troubleshooting such as Power Meters, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), OSA & BERT to test fiber and verify specifications and throughput.
· Sound working knowledge of key business applications that drive service provider networks: Data and Optical Services, Data Center/Cloud ecosystems.
· Create, reviews and approves Methods of Procedures prior to implementation.
· Create system support documentation including instructional procedures, provisioning guidelines, test plans, problem documentation and functional process flows.
· Experience in troubleshooting large network major and critical outages.
· Experience managing IT or IP Network deployment projects in a mission critical environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of a common goal.
· Ability to independently troubleshoot network issues.
· Knowledge of optical OEM devices such as Cisco, Infinera, Ciena, Cisco, Nokia and ECI.
· Familiarity with Colo, space and power requirement of optical network devices.
