Successful Real Estate Law Firm headquartered in the Cumberland/Galleria Mall area is seeking a full time Closing Paralegal. This position requires an experienced, hardworking, organized and motivated candidate with excellent communication skills and good follow through skills. A solid working background in real estate closings with extensive experience using Landtech is required for this full-time salaried position. This position is responsible for all phases of closing file preparation (Pre-Closing, Closing Coordinating, Closing, & Disbursing). This position is instrumental in both servicing and maintaining the relationships we currently have with Realtors, loan officers, investors and other clients as well as assisting to build new relationships with business prospects. A seasoned closing professional is needed to participate in office activities, to serve as a single point of contact and to consistently represent us as the expert for all closing related matters. Fundamental skills associated with a Closing Paralegal are necessary to generate CDs from lender closing instructions, submit CDs for collaboration & approval by lender, preparing HUD-1 settlement statements for cash closings, and checking the file thoroughly for all variables before funding. In addition, this candidate will communicate with all parties to the transaction and ultimately will prepare the file for closing. Customer service skills, a positive upbeat approach and a people pleasing attitude are all ABSOLUTE MUSTS! The compensation package on this position includes a full set of benefits including PTO, medical, dental, vision, life and disability. Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position is responsible for the following:
- Communicate with all parties throughout the process to coordinate and schedule upcoming closings
- Pre-Close each file to prepare for closing ordering Water, HOA, Payoffs, Buyer or Seller Info Sheets, etc.
- Utilize our internal document management program updating file notes, status changes, tasks completed, etc.
- Read, comprehend and accurately interpret a title report/exam and clear any encumbrances
- Prepare Fee CDs, CPLs, and Title Commitments/Binders for lenders as needed on each file
- Solidify and build business relationships with Realtors onsite and in the immediate geographical area
- Prepare Closing Disclosure Statements (CDs) in Landtech
- Collaborate with lenders to achieve an accurate CD for distribution to their Borrower(s)
- Prepare HUD-1 Settlement Statements in Landtech for cash closings
- Prepare closing packages & documents for execution at the closing table (i.e. Note, Deeds, Affidavits, Lender Packages, etc.)
- Prepare title policies (owner & lender) and calculate accurate premiums
- Balance, fund and disburse file
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience processing real estate closing files utilizing Landtech (HUD & CFPB Modules)
- Able to work in a paperless, automated and fast paced environment with a positive and upbeat attitude
- Able to multi task to complete various tasks required- Calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Team player that can work effectively with realtors, loan officers, underwriters, closers and other team members.
- Computer savvy and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications
- Must work on-site with some extended hours at month end as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
