We are currently seeking a Pipefitter/Welder with 5+ years’ experience to join our talented Service team.
As a Pipefitter/Welder specializing in lay outs, assembles, installs, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems. Your role is crucial in ensuring that these systems operate efficiently, meet safety standards, and provide optimal comfort for occupants.

Key Responsibilities:
- Determines type and size of pipe, and all other related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
- Inspects work site to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes cut for pipe will not cause structural weakness.
- Plans installation or repair as needed to avoid obstructions and interfering with the other work.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe.
- Assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
- Connects pipes, using arc welding, threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers.
- Installs and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment such as pumps and cylinders.
- Installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
- Increases pressure in pipe system and observes connected pressure gauge to test system for leaks.
- Will be required to read and follow blueprints and determine what material, tools and equipment will be needed to complete task.
- Will be required to work independently and be able to keep from one (1) to three (3) apprentices productive.
- May be required to be crew leader, overseeing from one (1) to ten (10) fitter / welders and apprentices.

Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five (5) years of field experience.
- Has completed an apprenticeship school
- High school diploma or GED.
- OSHA 10-hour course.
- Certified training on all lifts.
- Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Computer Skills: Using an I-Pad, Construction Cloud, Procore, Excel, and Word
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Must have the ability to manage helpers and pipe welder.
