We are seeking a highly motivated Production Lead to join our team and oversee operations across six production departments: cut, packards, hand, ultra-sonic, build, braid, and inspection. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to excellence.
- Work Location: Hutchinson Correctional East Facility working onsite for Electrex Inc.
- Background check: This opportunity requires a Department of Corrections clear background check.
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. 6:00am to 2:30pm
- We are seeking local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities:
- Report daily and weekly on department activities from efficiency to job hours closed using Excel and Power BI dashboard.
- Development and execution of high-quality processes within the six production departments; cut, packards, hand, ultra-sonic, build, braid and inspection.
- Training production team members on assigned shifts.
- Overseeing daily workflow and assignments to achieve target goals.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of equipment and processes and promptly notifying maintenance of equipment issues.
- Ensuring team members comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assisting with cross-training across product lines to maximize efficiency.
- Ensuring that process procedures and documents are properly followed and at the current revision level (SOW, PDS, Process Sheet, PCI, labels).
- Completing administrative tasks for the team as assigned.
- Communicating operation/process changes to the team.
- Reading and comprehending all necessary paperwork required for the job (e.g., PCI, SOW, Process Sheet, PDS, Visual Work Instructions).
- Manufacturing products according to work instructions and ensuring compliance with Quality Standards.
- Ensuring that the team accurately reports all required paperwork for the job.
- Ensuring that team members wear all appropriate safety equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be willing and able to work 6am-2:30pm
Skills:
- Efficiency using MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes: Expert-level knowledge of the manufacturing processes used in the organization, including assembly, machining, testing, and inspection.
- Understanding of ISO 9001: Understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and its requirements, including Quality Management principles and methodologies.
- Leadership: Ability to lead a team of production workers and develop a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address production-related issues and develop effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to continuously improve manufacturing processes and organizational performance.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with employees customers, and external auditors.
- Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage workflow for the team.
- Quality Control: Ability to ensure that the products manufactured meet the required quality standards, including inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Health and Safety: Knowledge and experience in health and safety regulations and policies, and ability to ensure compliance.
- Equipment Maintenance: Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and ability to ensure that equipment is maintained and repaired as needed.
- Production Planning: Ability to develop production schedules and plans to meet customer demand and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Employee Training: Ability to develop and deliver training programs to ensure that employees understand their roles and responsibilities within the production processes.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze production data and generate reports on performance metrics such as efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Supplier Management: Ability to manage supplier performance to ensure that they meet quality standards and expectations.
- Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives.
