The SLP, Speech Evaluation Analyst is responsible for activities involved with successful submission of client files to various insurance companies with the goal of gaining approval for the client to receive a medically funded speech generating device. The position must carefully assist in answering questions regarding the medical necessity of a speech generating device. In addition to assisting with questions and apprehensiveness, this role will work directly with various medical professionals to ensure the documents meet the rigors of various insurance requirements. As part of the medical funding process, this role will work collaboratively with other AbleNet staff to provide an improvement-centric service experience with both internal and external customers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all incoming inquiries pertaining to how to write and what to include in a speech evaluation.

Respond to any open and newly created speech evaluation cases

Engage files that have multiple expected evaluation date submissions as well as aging files that have had a trial device longer than required by insurance.

Promote the utilization of AbleNet’s tools and resources to improve the likelihood of successful insurance approval.

Analyze unsuccessful files to determine root-cause and recognize improvement opportunities for future client files.

Provide research-based answers to questions from customers, providers, and other stakeholders.

Keep detailed records of customer interactions, including the details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken in accordance with HIPAA policies.

Attain and maintain proficient working knowledge of customer relations system, Microsoft Office products, and other supporting databases.

Maintain HIPPA and FRPA laws in accordance with the compliance requirements of AbleNet.

Demonstrate a high sense of urgency through timely responses and detailed documentation of all inquiries sent via e-mail, mail, fax, chat or over the phone .

Collect and maintain relevant data ensure the integrity of each file’s medical information for future process improvement and auditing purposes.

Work as a cross-functional team member that adds to the development of AbleNet and supports company initiatives and goals.

Physical:
Standard Office Environment: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
Time:
Full-Time, Exempt employees work an average of 40 hours per week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
