We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide services to the Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, NM.
Pay Rate: $80/hr
Anticipated Schedule: 10-12 hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week
Contract Duration: 3 months, optional extensions
Job Duties:
- The contracting Respiratory Therapist will perform a wide range of judgment and initiative in the application of cardiopulmonary procedures
- Duties and responsibilities may encompass outpatient, inpatient and community health services to patients.
- Contracting personnel will serve all areas of the hospital including but not limited to: Medical/Surgical, Outpatients, Emergency/Trauma Room, Pediatrics, Newborn Nursery, and Intensive Care Unit and Women’s Health Unit.
- Oxygen administration using all the devices available (nasal cannula, masks, oxyhoods, infant incubators, etc.)
- Initial set-up and management of ventilators for patients of all ages (including documentation)
- Assist with intubation
- Care of endotracheal tubes and trach tubes, including cuff monitor
- Extubation of patients of all age groups
- Nebulization treatments via small volume and large volume. Having knowledge of all Respiratory medications, their positive effects, adverse affects and proper doses.
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Registered through the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- The Contractor must possess at least three (3) years of recent acute care experience.
- Have minimum of one year of experience in the following areas: Pediatrics, Adult ICU – Ventilator Management, Emergency/Trauma, Arterial blood gas punctures, analyzing and interpretation
- Medical/Surgical care of young adults, adults and geriatric patients
- Floor to floor and ground transports
- Performs Electrocardiograms and Competence in respiratory medications.
