Position Summary: New Horizons Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training is looking for a qualified Electrical Apprentice Instructor to join our exceptional team of apprentice related technical instructional (RTI) curriculum instructors supporting the Virginia Sponsored Apprenticeship RTI programs. We are seeking qualified faculty members to teach Electrical RTI (Electrical Theory) for the Fall 2024-2025 school year. The center is primarily seeking individuals who are available to teach evening classes (Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm) at our Woodside Lane Campus. Faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis each semester as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and experience equivalent to a Journeyman Level certification or higher. 2) Candidates must be familiar with basic utilization of computer and other technologies for instruction (We will train). 3) Good written and oral communication skills. 4) Effective classroom management skills. 5) Some Experience training adult learners (In the field or classroom). 6) Licensed Virginia Electrical contractor licensed or DPOR issued Journeyman Or Master’s license in this specific craft area is required. 7) 3 consecutive years in the electrical trades performing those trade skills.
