The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is currently in an exciting period of growth and expansion. As part of our ongoing pursuit of clinical innovation, education needs, and research, we seek Pediatric Gastroenterologists to join our Division within UC San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego in the following fields to fill multiple positions:
- Motility and Neurogastroenterology (NGM)
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
- Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders (EOE)
- General Pediatric Gastroenterology

The Department of Pediatrics is committed to promoting child health in the community and across the state while supporting innovative clinical programs and expanding research and training initiatives. Rady Children’s Hospital is the largest Children’s Hospital in California and the pediatric gastroenterology services are provided through faculty of the Department of Pediatrics, University of California San Diego. Both are committed to building a neurogastrointestinal and motility disorders program for children and adolescents, advancing IBD care, and improving outcomes for children with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
Our Motility Center has participated in several multicenter trials and collaborations with UCSD bioengineering. The IBD Center is a multidisciplinary program that provides care for over 800 children from the Southern California region and beyond. Our Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders program is a national referral center for children that incorporates pediatric gastroenterology, allergy, and nutrition for integrated patient care.
The successful candidates will join our GI practice of 23 attending faculty and 7 advanced practice providers with 6 ACGME pediatric gastroenterology fellows. The candidates will be expected to contribute to the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology's mission of delivering high-quality inpatient and outpatient care, performing procedures, teaching students, residents, and fellows, and engaging in scholarly activities. The NGM candidates will join a division with a non-GME-approved advanced training program in motility.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate’s background and experience.
