Job Summary
Accounting Assistant
DSK Law, founded in 1976 is one of the largest law firms in Central Florida and has an opening for an accounting clerk at the firm's Orlando office. This position works in the office and reports to the Accounting Manager.
Summary of duties:
- Assist in creating and processing monthly invoices for work done by lawyers;
- Assist in the client billing and collection process;
- Prepare electronic budgets and billing submissions with client follow-up,
- Perform conflict checks for potential new clients;
- Process new matter intakes;
- Perform conflict checks for potential new clients;
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and other members of the accounting team on various projects;
- Ensure time entries comply with client-specific timekeeping requirements,
- Coordinate with accounting team for follow-up on A/R balances
- Prepare reports in Excel or other formats as required by attorneys or clients;
- Research and respond quickly to inquiries regarding billing questions; and,
- Assist with other special projects and activities as needed.

Qualifications:
Experience level:
- 2+ years of general accounting experience in electronic billing preferably within a law firm but not required;
- Proficiency with Windows based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
